We want to share some encouraging news about the current market. While it's true that mortgage rates have increased recently, they remain at manageable levels considering the circumstances. Contrary to expectations, the Federal Reserve's policies and the economic indicators we monitor closely, such as the 10-year yield and jobless claims data, suggest that rates could have escalated further. Specifically, the 10-year yield, a crucial determinant for housing rates, is within the forecasted range for 2024, indicating stability. Despite expectations for higher rates based on past trends, the actual rates have not reached the anticipated peaks. This is partly due to better-than-expected performance in certain economic sectors. It's important to understand that the dynamics of mortgage rates are complex, influenced by various factors including Federal Reserve actions, economic data, and market expectations. Currently, the economic and labor data are holding steady, which helps maintain the current rate levels.
